Thank You, Salt Lake City!

The 2025 Unified 5K at Liberty Park was an unforgettable celebration of inclusion and community. Whether you ran, walked, rolled, volunteered, sponsored, or cheered, you helped make this day truly special. We want to extend a heartful thank you to all of our sponsors and vendors. Without you, our inaugural race in Utah would not have been nearly as successful.

We can’t wait to see you at the starting line in 2026!

Community Impact

Blade Donation

Thanks to our partnership with Less Leg More Heart and Mobility Prosthetics, we were able to donate a running blade to a very deserving recipient, Brandon.

“As a new below-knee amputee, receiving a donated running foot gave me back something I thought I had lost forever—the ability to run. Thanks to the generosity of the Unified 5k and Less Leg More Heart, I was able to participate in a charity run—my first time running in over five years. I’m deeply grateful for their support and for helping people like me rediscover movement, hope, and purpose.”

Thank you to our Salt Lake City Race Directors!

Mckenna Hannigan

Race Director
Mckenna Hannigan is passionate about public health, inclusion, and endurance sports. She holds a B.S. in Biology and is currently pursuing an Accelerated B.S. in Nursing. At the Salt Lake County Health Department, Mckenna works in infectious diseases, supporting public health initiatives. Her commitment to inclusion began at age 11 with Special Olympics and continued through her involvement in Best Buddies from 2011 to 2022, advocating for individuals with disabilities. Mckenna also volunteers with Special Olympics and Unified Health and Performance, supporting athletes of all abilities.

Maddie Rodriguez

Race Director
Maddie Rodriguez lives in Provo, UT and works as an Associate Strategist at Formative, a consulting agency based in Seattle. She is the Founder of runclubprovo, a women’s running group that encourages women to get outside, move their bodies, and make new friends. Maddie spends as much time as possible hiking, skiing and climbing in the mountains with her husband, Colby, and chocolate lab.

Zachary Josie

Race Director
Born with Ellis Van Creveld Syndrome, a rare form of dwarfism, Zachary Josie never saw himself as an athlete. That changed in his 20s when a college spin class sparked a passion for endurance sports. He has since become a 15-time IRONMAN 70.3 finisher and a 2-time full-distance IRONMAN. Endurance sports have made him proud of his body and shown him how privileged he is to push it to its fullest potential. Now, Zachary competes to push his limits, redefine possibilities, and inspire others to embrace their own potential.
