Schedule of Events

– 8:30am – Bib Pick-up and day-of registration opens

– 8:30am – Expo and Wheelchair tennis clinic begins in the Wellness Center

– 9:30am – Early Start begins 

– 10:00am – Traditional 5k start for open and adaptive divisions

– 11:00am – Award ceremony

5k Route

Course Description

– Start on Farm Drive in front of the High School entrance

– Run/Walk/Roll 0.55 miles down Farm Drive and turn right onto Apache Lane

– At the end of Apache, turn right onto Plantation Drive which becomes Plantation Road

– At the end of Plantation, turn left onto Farm Drive and run back towards the school

– Before reaching the start/finish line, turn right onto Mullen Street

– Turn left onto Hadde Avenue, left onto Evergreen Street, left onto Beamis Avenue, and right onto Mullen Street

– Turn left onto Farm Drive and run a half mile to complete the Apache and Plantation loop

– Run/Walk/Roll a half mile to the finish line!

Course Description

– Start on Farm Drive in front of the High School entrance

– Loop around the cul-de-sac

– Turn right onto Farm Drive

– Run/Walk/Roll a half mile to the finish line!

Blade Donation

Adaptive Fitness Beneficiary

Are you a fitness facility in the Cumberland area interested in educating your staff through the AdaptX Academy curriculum and outfitting your facility with some adaptive fitness equipment?

Meet the Team

Benjamin Drezek

Race Director
Ben Drezek, a member of the Cumberland High School class of 2017, excelled as a varsity XC and track athlete, still holding the current RI state record in the 3000 meter steeplechase. He continued his athletic and academic success at UMass Lowell, where he earned his Exercise Science degree in 2021 and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2024. Ben was a captain for the River Hawks’ XC and track programs, an American East Scholar Athlete of the Year, made appearances at the NCAA National Championships in XC and two times in track. Ben works as a physical therapist at Elite Physical Therapy in Johnston, RI primarily with orthopedic and sport injuries As a Race Director for AdaptX, he is focused on raising awareness and building opportunities for athletes of all abilities to compete and excel, with emphasis on the fact that running is truly a sport for all.

Abby Drezek

Race Director
Abby excelled as a three-sport varsity athlete at Cumberland High School while actively participating in Best Buddies, fostering her commitment to inclusion. She was a three-year captain of the D1 UMass Lowell soccer team, where she earned her Exercise Science degree in 2021 and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2024. Abby earned multiple All-Academic Team selections and a nomination for NCAA Woman of the Year in 2021. During a clinical rotation at Unified Health and Performance, Abby was introduced to AdaptX, which ignited her passion for adaptive sports. She saw firsthand the power of inclusivity and knew it was a cause she had to support. Now a pediatric physical therapist at Hasbro Children’s Hospital, Abby uses her expertise to help young patients thrive. As a Race Director for AdaptX, she is focused on raising awareness and building opportunities for athletes of all abilities to compete and excel.
