Community Impact

Blade Donation

Thanks to our partnership with Less Leg More Heart, we will be donating a running blade to an amputee at the race. Click the button below to send us an email if you are interested in applying to be the recipient.

As a new below-knee amputee, receiving a donated running foot gave me back something I thought I had lost forever—the ability to run. Thanks to the generosity of the Unified 5k and Less Leg More Heart, I was able to participate in a charity run—my first time running in over five years. I’m deeply grateful for their support and for helping people like me rediscover movement, hope, and purpose.”

Zachary Josie

Race Director
Born with Ellis Van Creveld Syndrome, a rare form of dwarfism, Zachary Josie never saw himself as an athlete. That changed in his 20s when a college spin class sparked a passion for endurance sports. He has since become a 15-time IRONMAN 70.3 finisher and a 2-time full-distance IRONMAN. Endurance sports have made him proud of his body and shown him how privileged he is to push it to its fullest potential. Now, Zachary competes to push his limits, redefine possibilities, and inspire others to embrace their own potential.
