Blade Donation

Thanks to our partnership with Less Leg More Heart, we will be donating a running blade to an amputee at our Unified 5k Tampa. Click the button below if you are interested in applying to be the recipient.

Racing Chair Donation

Our goal is to donate a Hoyt Running Chair or handcycle at as many races as possible. If you are interested in receiving one of these pieces of equipment, click the button below to fill out an application and check out the sister duo we donated a chair to this May in Lancaster, MA.

Meet the Team

Jason Rabe

Race Director
Jason Rabe is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Health Sciences and Human Performance, where he teaches Physical Education and Fitness for Special Populations, Adult Fitness, and coaching courses. His work centers on inclusion and equity in physical activity, helping students confront biases toward individuals with disabilities and design activities where everyone can participate. He also partners with the All People's Life Center in Hillsborough County, connecting his students with wheelchair sports and athletes with disabilities.

Brendan Aylward

Race Director
Brendan Aylward’s career has revolved around making fitness and physical activity accessible for people with disabilities. He is the owner of Unified Health and Performance, Executive Director of AdaptX, and a member of Team Hoyt New England, completing more than 100 races together with his friend, Jacob. He hosted the first Unified 5k in 2019 and is now working on scaling the event to communities around the country to make endurance sports accessible.

Wellington De Luna Vazquez

Race Director
Wellington De Luna, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Health Sciences and Human Performance, where he teaches Biokinetics and Conditioning, Physical Education and Fitness for Special Populations, and Personal and Family Health. His research focuses on parasport, strength and conditioning for special populations, and goalball, a Paralympic sport for athletes who are blind or visually impaired, with published work on coaching athletes with visual impairments and increasing the inclusion of students with disabilities in physical education.
