Join us for the inaugural Unified 5k in Hyannis on April 22 for a celebration of inclusion and ability. 

Race alongside hundreds of adaptive athletes and advocates that will be in Hyannis for the 2026 Move United annual conference.

Schedule of Events

4:30pm – Bib Pick-up and day-of registration opens

4:30pm – Expo begins

5:30pm – 5k and 1 Mile start for open and adaptive divisions

6:30pm – Award ceremony

5k Route

Course Description

  • Start in the Sturgis Charter School Parking Lot

  • Turn right onto Scudder Ave and continue down Scudder Ave for about 1.15 miles

  • Scudder becomes Dale Avenue

  • Turn right onto Hawthorne Avenue

  • Turn right onto Irving Avenue and continue past Scudder for 0.25 miles

  • Turn left onto Iyanough Avenue

  • Turn right onto Washington Avenue

  • Washington becomes Hyannis Avenue, which becomes Greenwood Avenue

  • Continue on Greenwood for about a half mile

  • Turn left onto Atwood Road

  • Turn right back onto Scudder

  • Turn left into the Sturgis Charter Parking Lot

1 Mile Route

Course Description

  • Start in the Sturgis Charter School Parking Lot

  • Turn right onto Scudder Ave

  • Continue on Scudder until you reach Redwood Lane

  • Turn around and retrace the course back to Sturgis

Blade Donation

Thanks to our partnership with Less Leg More Heart, we will be donating a running blade to an amputee at every race. Click the button below if you are interested in applying to be the recipient.

Meet the Team

Brendan Aylward

Race Director

Brendan Aylward

Brendan Aylward’s career has revolved around making fitness and physical activity accessible for people with disabilities. He is the owner of Unified Health and Performance, Executive Director of AdaptX, and a member of Team Hoyt New England, completing more than 100 races together with his friend, Jacob. He hosted the first Unified 5k in 2019 and is now working on scaling the event to communities around the country to make endurance sports accessible.

Justin Peirce

Race Director

Justin Peirce

Justin is the Director of Development for AdaptX. He has been passionate about the inclusivity and accessibility of sports since high school, where he was a volunteer for a Special Olympics basketball program and at an inclusive strength and conditioning facility. Justin went on to play collegiate basketball at Franklin and Marshall University and now competes in marathons.
